Based in the Market Garden at Forty Hall Farm, Capel Manor's very own organic farm, we serve as an educational resource to students and volunteers, while producing food for the local community. The veg box scheme has been running for over 10 years, and aims to provide a local, accessible and fresh veg to Enfield and Barnet through our weekly delivery scheme.
The team is made up of a small team of growers, farmers and volunteers, our interests range from flowers to supper clubs to tractors.
Organic is better for you and the planet.
All our veg is 'spray free', with no artificial pesticides, and certified by the Soil Association. This means we have higher environmental and production standards. Organic farming leads to better soil health, stores more carbon, and can increase biodiversity on farms by an average of 30%. Read more about the benefits of going organic from the Soil Association.
Our produce is not only organic, but local, too. Around half of the veg in your veg bags over the course of the year is grown here in the Market Garden at Forty Hall Farm, just a short walk from college. This means fewer food miles, fresher produce, and more support for your local community and economy.
We supplement our own veg with produce bought in from other growers, primarily in the south-east of England, and sometimes from further afield. Regardless of origin, everything is certified organic and has not travelled by air.
Every Wednesday, we deliver to 15 different pick-up points around Enfield and Barnet, including Capel Manor's Enfield campus. You can choose to have a bag weekly, fortnightly, or simply as-and-when you need, with over eight different bag options to choose from. You can now also add a range of extra items to your order, from tomatoes and cucumbers, to lettuce plants and pots of basil.
Everything on offer is visible on our website. Setting up an account and placing an order takes just a few minutes.
